PETER AND LOLA DESERVE EACH OTHER

PETER AND LOLA
Why so much ado about the marriage between Peter and Lola. I believe that they deserve each other, after first and second kid what next. Do you advice the young man to dump the wife and two kids and start a second home. Age is just a number just let them be and support them by praying for their home. In my own opinion  I think Peter will be happier with Lola than marrying an Ibo girl.

NOLLYWOOD GO TO WORK: make films for “A class” Award

For those who feel is 20 or 37 or 60......or Nollywood is Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa ? These are not the issues because some have so trivialized the nollywood phenomenon by their deep sited shear ignorance claiming to be historians when they know nothing about the history the motion picture industry in nigeria. Some have ascribed the father of Nigerian cinema to Hurbert Ogunde when in actual fact young Turks then like Ola Balogun, Eddie Ugbomah, Ade Afolayan had made films before Ogunde's film in 1980. So I wonder when I see people making an issue over Nollywood when this so called 'local champions' whose films have not made it to any A Class film festival or Award (Cannes, berlinanale, Toronto, sundance, Venice, oscar) are claiming to be champions. To me them no different from Asaba producers. Go play in the global arena and stop chasing shadows because that was the mistake of the Ogunde's in 1987 when they want to stop Alade aromires EKUN video film from screening at the theater but today what do we have videos screening at theaters and they were chasing shadows. So stop ethnic jingoism and make films that will go global and compete internationally because even Fespaco, these clowns who travel globally on d name of nollywood have not won an award because I see them at festivals moving around without direction as their so call "great films" in Naija is below international standard. They can counter me because sadly since 1903 when the first malaria documentary was made in jos by the colonial film unit and 1904 when glover hall lagos screened the first film....no Nigerian film from Nollywood at 110, 70, 50, or 20 or even 37 has won any of the "A class"award I mentioned. So make Una go work Jare and stop bringing tribalism to an industry that is owned by all Nigerians irrespective of your tribe or color. Shikena

KUMAR RAJ, DIRECTOR OF BOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER FILM “TARA “IN NIGERIA

Kumar Raj ,  Mrs Bukola Agbaminoja, Hope Obioma Opara

The 4th edition of the annual Eko International Film Festival got a boost from Indian films submitted for the forthcoming event which will start from 18-23 November, 2013 in Lagos Nigeria. Mr. Kumar Raj, the Producer/Director of Bollywood blockbuster film TARA visited the President/CEO of Eko International Film Festival in Nigeria.

He also paid a courtesy visit with the President of Eko International Film Festival Mr. Hope Opara to the Lagos State Government’s Head of Film Office, Mrs. Bukola  Agbaminoja  at her office in Ikeja. She was very excited to meet with the director /producer of TARA and the prospects of Indian films in the Lagos based global film festival.

Indian film TARA has been scheduled to be the opening film for the festival.
"TARA....the journey of love and passion " subtitled in English is about a village girl Tara seems to be content with her confined life, very much in love with her liquor maker husband. But, when the beautiful protagonist’s seemingly mundane existence parts ways to reveal the unspoken realities of exploitation and darkness enveloping the village, she leads the villagers in their quest for survival, only to realize that she is up against something she may not be prepared to fight against prejudice. The young woman who bravely stood up for the whole community finds herself cruelly alienated in her most vulnerable moment.

Ultimately, after a series of gut wrenching experiences, she has to make a choice... Based on disturbingly common realities of Indian villages, this powerful story of self-discovery transcends the original theme of tribal strife to raise a universal question—can you always choose freedom & self-respect over social acceptance?  The journey of the extraordinary woman Tara in very difficult situations reveals the story of love and passion and how she deals with same.

Eko International Film Festival also attracted another Indian film THE LIGHT and an Oscar nominated documentary DAM 999 which will also be screened during the film festival.

The annual Eko International Film Festival (EKOIFF) is Nigeria’s leading international film festival in the coastal mega city of Lagos in south western Nigeria.
The Festival’s mission is to promote the appreciation of Arts and Culture through the motion picture arts and sciences and boost tourism in Lagos and Nigeria in general.
