Nigerian-American filmmaker, Faraday Okoro’s proposed
movie“Nigerian Prince” won $1 million
AT&T Grant at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival.
The debut feature film is a coming of age, heist
thriller, set in Lagos, Nigeria. The film uncovers the hidden world of
“Nigerian email” scammers, otherwise known to the West as Nigerian Prince
scammers. It’s about a Nigerian-American teen sent to Nigeria against his will,
but later teams with his Nigerian cousin to scam unsuspecting foreigners in
order to earn money for a ticket back to the United States.
