The Identity Question 4
Genesis 3:1, 4-5 KJV
“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
When you look at the way the serpent tempted Eve, it was subtlety at its best. He never attacked her frontally. He knew that would be a guaranteed failure.
He went after her knowledge of her identity. The moment he identified ignorance and confusion about self in Eve, he went for the kill and Eve lost.
His first question was targeted at the instruction given by God to Adam. The answer he got assured him that Eve knew the risk of eating the fruit but was ignorant about her God nature. He capitalized on this ignorance.
When Eve said the repercussion for eating the fruit was death, he twisted the situation to exploit her ignorance and promised her an identity she already had but didn't know she had! What a pity!
If God gave birth to her and Likes beget Likes, the only thing she could have been; which she indeed was, was a god but alas, she didn't know it!
The devil exploited her ignorance and got her to lust after what she already had to their destruction and to the loss of the glory of God.
May every ignorance designed to make you lose God's glory be destroyed by the light of God. Join me as we dig deeper tomorrow
