Nigerian women beggars in Morocco on their way to Europe by Road

Saw these Nigerian women and the baby boy as BEGGARS in Rabat Morocco Today. They actually traveled by Road and now stranded in Morocco. Told them they needed to return home......One was open to returning but the other two refused.....it’s SAD because Nigeria is not as BAD as they painted the country........Ironically they are from Edo state,
but importantly i reminded them they will not be on the street begging in Nigeria.

I had to assist them with some money but for how long? I also saw their determination to enter Europe........SAD

Happy Birthday Okey "Paulo" Ogunjiofor (The Guy That revolutionized Nollywood )

Okey "Paulo" Ogunjiofor

From a very humble beginning this perfect gentleman and an essemble of principles and details..........the story of NOLLYWOOD and the relationship of LIVING IN BONDAGE to this global phenomenon has often been distorted for different purposes but for the record, this gentleman who celebrates his birthday; around the very early 90's era had just left the TV college my alma mata in Jos for Lagos to seek a career in Television

Okey and Wife

Production but alas that was the era when NTA had stopped commissioning projects and also stopped employees from acting. so this young man was forced and challenged to hawk on the street of Lagos to eek a living and in between this challenging position he had this brilliantly written script that will go on to revolutionise this motion picture business in Nigeria titled LIVING IN BONDAGE.

The Movie that told the world about Nollywood

Talented, creative but handicapped without the required funding for his film , a chance meeting with the enigmatic businessman and producer Kenneth Nnebue who provided the funding for this distinguished thespian and Nigerian Okechukwu Paulo Ogunjiofor to produce LIVING IN BONDAGE which saw the emergence of KENNETH OKONKWO as ANDY amonsgst others, it is to the creative ingenuity of Okechukwu Okey Ogunjiofor that the likes of Late Francis Agu, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Kanayo O. Kanayo, DDan Oluuigbo, Ngozi Nwosu amongst several others featured in this revolutionary movie that was directed by an NTA staff Vic Mordi but real name Chris Obi-Rapubecause as an employee of NTA he was not permitted to work outside the establishment. Okey was to later team up with Kanayo O Kanayo to produce CIRCLE OF DOOM. As i celebrate this passionate christain, compassionate gentleman, dispassionate and highly celebral individual on issues as he celebrates his birthday, i need to wish to on behalf of his wife(My sister), kids, Nollywood wish Okey "Paulo" Ogunjiofor a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and i will always remember how you DROPPED Personal interest to embrace the collective interest in the celebration of NOLLYWOOD AT 20 when i was told to discuss with you the idea of forgoing your plan for a nollywood at 20 celebration. Congrats INLAW

Happy Birthday to Nollywood Veteran Producer / Director RALPH NWADIKE

RALPH NWADIKE

Happy birthday to my heartbeat, my soul mate, my confidant, my best friend, my LOVE and my hubby of life...
From this day on, wherever you go and whatever you do, you shall be blessed... *Deut.
28:6**
Love you like *kilode*, love you to bits.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY HUSBAND.
.........Mummy D.Nwadike

Today one of the icons of nollywood celebrates his birthday. A gentleman, I knew him as a member of a trio group who produced some of the most glamorous TV soaps of the early 99's. The Trio may up of Tunji Bamishigbin, Charles Owoyemi and Ralph Nwadike had teamed up with one of the gurus of nollywood Zeb Ejiro in the early 90's to produce Fortunes which launched the acting careers of Regina Askia, Ramsey Noah, Pat Attah and later became Mega fortunes.

At the inception of nollywood he with his team produced several movies like Most Wanted amongst several others. He has been a friend, brother and colleague, dispassionate, cerebral, understanding, passionate, kind and supportive in his disposition to issues.

When I started the abuja international film festival 12 years ago, he was among the few filmmakers who believed in the innitiative and supported me at that at that maiden edition. Today I join the Nwadike family, Nigerians and all lovers of nollywood to wish Ralph Nwadike a happy birthday today.

AFRICA TO SUPPLY EUROPE WITH SOLAR POWER

From VoiceOfAmerica. Story by George Putic

By 2018, a large solar power plant in the Tunisian part of the Sahara desert may start sending power to energy-hungry Western Europe. The company running the plant says once it is fully operational it will generate almost twice as much electricity as an average nuclear plant and supply two million homes in Europe.

According to the European Commission’s Institute for Energy, just 0.3 percent of the Saharan Desert’s intense solar energy can provide Europe with all the electrical power it needs.
A company called Nur Energy plans to capture some of it by building a solar plant similar to an Israeli one in the Negev desert that uses heliotropic mirrors. This technology, unlike photovoltaic cells, can generate energy even when the sky is overcast or at night.

Thousands of mirrors, spread over 100 square kilometers, will concentrate sunlight to a tower where it heats and melts a special salt.
Kevin Sara, the CEO of Nur Energy, said the technology makes storage easy.
“You can then store that heat very easily, so you can continue producing electricity after the sun goes down,” said Sara.
In a heat exchanger, the molten salt turns water into steam for turbines that turn electrical generators.
Sara said the project could significantly decrease use of fossil fuels in Europe.
“We could gradually decarbonize the European grid using desert power, using this solar energy with storage from the Sahara desert and linked to Europe with high-voltage DC cables which are very, very low in their losses,” said Sara,
The cable link to Europe is another interesting part of the project.
Instead of the usual alternating current transmission, Nur Energy plans to send the power by a dedicated direct current underwater cable. Power being sent through the cable has a loss rate of just 3 percent per 1,000 kilometers. In addition to being cheaper, this technology requires no synchronization between different AC transmission systems.
Recently, Tunisia held its second democratic parliamentary elections. Sara said the solar energy project could contribute to the country’s stability.
“A lot of this equipment can be manufactured by local Tunisian companies, and that will create employment and employment opportunities for the Tunisian youth,” said Sara.

The construction of the solar plant in southwestern Tunisia is expected to start by the end of 2016, with the first kilowatts being delivered by late 2018.
